Trip.com and airlines teams up to improve customer travel benefits

Trip.com, a renowned international online travel agency, has reportedly announced a new collaboration with some of the world’s leading international airlines in an effort to bring more rewards to their loyalty program members.

The company has made several strategic collaborations with leading airlines over the past year, to offer its frequent flyer and loyalty program members rewards as well as access to various discounts on more than 1.4 million properties spread across 200 countries as well as regions. The properties include airport hotels, business hotels, luxury resorts and hotels, and train station hotels. Throughout the past six months, Trip.com has partnered with China Airlines, Thai Airways, Jeju Air, Etihad Airways, and Bangkok Airways.

The company has been entering into partnerships with global airline loyalty programs since 2017, the new partnerships add to the firm’s existing agreements with Asiana Airlines, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, and Asia Miles.

Chief Marketing Officer of Trip.com Group, Bo Sun stated that as travelers across the globe plan to start to plan their next trips, the firm is thrilled to partner with global airlines to increase the number of benefits it offers to travelers globally.

Sun further added that this new opportunities unties the company with its airline partners in an era when innovations within cooperation as well as customer engagement are paving the way for the future of global travel.

There are various offers available for loyalty program members of the company’s airline partners when they utilize their respective airline memberships for booking hotel stays through Trip.com. For instance, members of Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus will receive six miles on their Royal Orchid Plus for each THB 100, or its currency equivalent, they spend when they book a stay using Trip.com through a dedicated link.

The company has established specific links for its airline partner members to book their tickets and receive rewards. Realizing the importance of flexibility in this time, the travel agency would offers travelers free cancellation guarantees or special discounts on advance reservations.
