Talkspace-owned Lasting has reportedly unveiled a new app, Parenting Guide from Lasting, a new application aimed at parents. The app is developed to assist parents in gaining confidence in their approach towards raising children.

The company stated that the application gives caregivers and parents access to resources to raise resilient and healthy children. It also provides live classes and self-guided sessions along with tools to help parents teach their kids to control their emotions.

Parenting Guide includes over 100 self-guided sessions and classes led by live therapists every week on topics like self-awareness, secure attachment, anxiety in kids, discipline, getting kids to listen, whining and complaining, sibling relationships, and strong-willed children. It also offers over 30 mental health prompts developed to help parents practice emotional regulation and self-care.

Additionally, the app comprises a section that enables parents to record their thoughts and provide answer prompts about certain topics. It also comprises features for parenting partners like a collaborative question and answer section that encourages conversations about approaches towards parenting.

For instance, parents can answer a question series to understand how each parent feels about their parenting approach. If both partners disagree on something, the application will encourage them to sort it together. Parents can keep track of sessions completed by each other.

Lasting stated that the parenting initiative was completed by over 4,000 families in beta testing and around 79% of them said that the application helped them parent efficiently.

Steven Dziedzic, the Senior Vice President and Founder of Lasting, expressed that today’s parents are raising kids all by themselves.

By listening to the customers, the company learned that American families needed the most assistance with parenting problems like sibling conflict, anxiety, and emotion-coaching. Therefore, the company developed an app that implements tried and tested psychological methods to assist them, added Dziedzic.

The app’s free version includes four sessions. The entire content library of the app is available for a monthly subscription of USD 29.99.
