Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Trip.com Group are reportedly extending their partnership across key markets like Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

The move comes along the heels of a discussion held between Juliana Kua, STB’s Assistant Chief Executive for International Group and Sun Bo, Trip.com’s Chief Marketing Officer in June 2022, regarding improvement in collaboration areas under the existing 3-year MOU signed in 2020.

The international arrivals in Singapore have witnessed strong growth since the reopening of borders in recent months. The country has seen close to 418,310 visitors in May, which was up from April’s 295,100.

One of the primary drivers of recovery in the travel sector is pent-up demand. Trip.com will extend its partnership with STB to recommend Singapore to travelers from major markets through some initiatives. These include public relations activities, marketing campaigns, KOLs’ promotions, and reviews through brands like Ctrip and Trip.com.

Sun Bo has expressed delight and appreciation for the support offered by Singapore to local tourism businesses. This includes launching the SingapoRediscovers Vouchers campaign which included Trip.com, and announcements related to the reopening of borders like the previous scheme of Vaccinated Travel Lane and the existing Vaccinated Travel Framework.

Ms. Kua has stated that the company has closely collaborated with Trip.com, particularly during the years of the pandemic to maintain Singapore’s presence in the minds of regional travelers.

Kua added that the company is delighted to extend its collaboration with Trip.com, which has a thriving network of data, users, and services. This network will be used to showcase the refreshed destination offerings of Singapore.

Both parties will collaborate on many marketing campaigns across several markets in the Southeast Asian region, in addition to Hong Kong and South Korea, over the coming months. This will be achieved through Trip.com Group’s global network and reputation as a leading provider of international travel services.
