Saudi Arabia-based Taif University has reportedly upgraded its audio abilities in collaboration with ClearOne Communications Inc and SCT (Smart Cities Technologies).

According to the Sr. AV Pre-Sales & Product Manager of SCT Moath M Yousef, instructors at Taif University utilize video conferencing in the lecture halls to work together with the graduate and undergraduate students of the University’s campus for women.

Smart Cities Technologies comprises a team of expert engineers with substantial experience in the field of home automation, audio-video solutions, lighting, IT solutions, and conference room technologies.

Collaborating with market-leading tech providers in the sectors of public address and Pro AV, interpretation and discussion, home and building automation; SCT can provide a comprehensive range of integrated, innovative, advanced solutions.

Yousef added that classes with high student numbers found it challenging to constantly transfer the microphone between students throughout the room to clearly hear discussions and questions. As a matter of fact, these video lectures often needed special supervisors to pass the microphones between students to ensure the smooth running of the class.

After assessing the situation, Yousef introduced ClearOne to the head of the Infrastructure Department at the university Anas AIQudsi. Together, they made the entire design for a complete advanced partnership solution featuring the combinations of Beamforming Mic Array 2 and Converge Pro 2 DSP mixers across 27 classrooms.

Working with 2 Beamforming Mic Arrays connected to every Converge Pro 2 mixer in combination with new materials absorbing audio in the classrooms, AIQudsi was confident there would be no need in the future for special classroom supervisors for transferring microphones between students. The whole deployment was executed without a hitch in less than a month.

Yousef cited that SCT and Taif University selected ClearOne solutions based on the history of the company in the audio industry and the reliability as well as the quality of its solutions.

Taif University continues to invite professionals from across the globe who found out that the ClearOne solution helped in seamlessly conducting lectures.
